How to add and XRF to a manual laboratory in QCX

We assume that the XRF equipment is created - by running the XRF standard through Standard2Solution and importing this solution to the server - and that the XRF driver service is installed.


There need to be a manual laboratory configured, which is done in the Generic editor


(System->Configuration>Configuration)


The Designation, DisplayName and TypeName does not have to match the example, but must be defined:

The manual laboratory must have LaboratoryCell defined - again are the Designation, DisplayName and TypeName is not important, but they must be defined:

The XRF defined when importing the equipment solution must be included in the manual cell, when there is no RoboLab - the EquipmentId is found by locating the XRF equipment in the tag browser:

When the manual laboratory is defined, must it be included for the Sample points for which samples are processed in the XRF - this can be done in the LabEditor:

Remember to check the RecipeManagement checkbox as well.




Now the XRF procedure and Equipment class can be configured, which for Qcx SW version 8.4 can be done from the Recipe Editor - select Procedures.

First Create Procedure and name it XRF - it must be of type Normal:

If Validation is set to Manual, will a pop up window for manual accept of analytical results appear after the analysis is completed. For Automatic validation is the results accepted based on the limits for the individual data items.


Afterwards can the Equipment class be created, where the procedure is linked to the equipment which can execute the procedure:

When the manual laboratory is configured and the procedure/equipment class is defined, can the procedure be used in a recipe:

And the recipe can be used for the combination of sample point and material type:

The program parameters are set for individual sample point/material type combinations, or through master programs:

When this is done, can a sample be logged in from the Active samples list, but selecting the Sample point and Material type and the press Login sample:

This will create the recipe:

And when double clicking the XRF procedure, will the Start UI appear, with the default program parameters:

When pressing start will the XRF analysis start - if the equipment is connected and ready:

After completion of the analysis will the manual accept UI appear - for Manual validation:

If this is not necesary, can Automatic validation b echosen instead for the XRF procedure:
