How to create and modify an instance (calculator point)

!!Something to remember; a program can be linked to more than one instance. But an instance can have only one calculator program.

After we have created the calculator program and it is available under the “Program View”, we can create an instance. To create an instance we follow the steps: System->Configuration->Calculator. Under the Local area, we select where we want the output variables to be shown. In the example which follows, we want the outputs to be shown under “Feeders”. So, we click on Feeders and we press Edit (Figure 1.1). Next step is to create the program instance by pressing where it is shown in the highlighted area of Figure 1.2. We name the instance and we link it to the calculator program we want (Figure 1.3).

Figure 1:

Next step is to give values to the input variables. We have the option of either link to a value given by BLX or give it a constant value. For the output variable, we have the option of selecting its properties. For example, we can adjust the decimals (Figure 2.3). For data to be logged-on, we need to enable “Log data” under Logging (Figure 2.2). To be able to make a trend of this point, we need to (A) enable Log data and (B) create a new HMI type (Figure 2.4).

Figure 2:

In HMI type, we create a new HMI type (Figure 3.1) where we declare the characteristics, we want this HMI to have. This is defined by browsing in Menu section. When the new HMI type has been created, it can be selected as property of the output variable.

Figure 3:

After we have defined the instance, remember to save the changes by clicking on the Edit button (on the top left side).

If we want to check an instance, we click on the instance. The values of input and output variables can be seen. There is the option of seeing the program calculator corresponding to the specific instance by clicking on the top right button on the screen (the calculator program will be appeared).

Figure 4:

TO MODIFY ANY INSTANCE:

We are in Program View, we select the desired Program, that the instance we want to change is linked to (Figure 5.1).  We click on Edit Program button (Figure 5.2) and we select the instance we want to modify (Figure 5.3).

After any change remember to save!!
