How to link recipe selection to material types in lab editor.
It is possible to set up blx so when a sample is logged in it reads off the active recipe which material type to use for the active sample.
All recipes have an individual selection mask number which for each recipe. This is the number in parents next to the name of the recipe.
Figure 1: Image showing the selection mask number for each recipe
In
QCX Lab editor
he BLX sample point should be defined like this:
The material types needed are selected as shown on the image 2.
Then if no autosample system – a sample taken signal is defined to the sample point. Under material type is the Recipe selection point entered
(can be found under the:
system --> configuration --> configuration --> BLX --> Mill
--> Plant Section --> IORecipeSelction.) And under Material type selection is the individual recipes selection mask number entered next to the material types that are needed for each sample – as shown in the image.

Then the Material types have to be linked to the sample point in the
QCX recipe editor by dragging the right recipe to the correspoinding sample point
/ material type. Also make sure the right programs are selected under
QCX Recipe Editor; Programs. Else it will not work!

Now: when a sample is logged in it will use the material type connected to the active recipe at the time of log in and the recipe selected for this sample point / material type.
Below is the Recipe YYY active and this have selection mask 1. On the image above can be seen that this selection mask use material type: lab2.
A sample is then logged into BLX sample point and can be seen under the Active sample window. When double clicking on the XRF it is possible to see that the material used for this sample is Lab2, as set up with the recipe selected.
