<float>{TOC}</float> ==Before you start== {INFO}Make sure QCX system is on same network as the OPC server so they can communicate and enter the name and IP address of the OPC server in the HOST file (try to ping){/INFO} ==On Windows== There are two ways of communication with an OPC server: Non Synchronous and Synchronous (it is seleted or de-seleted by under the OPC configuration in the QCX system) '''Non Synchronous''': this is the preferred one. Here 2 users accounts have to be considered: the FLS user and the OPC server user. The FLS user is the "User name" of the program Fls.Ecc.OpcDaClient (recommended user name is FlsOpc12). The user name and password of the Opc server must be provided by the customer, (see ref 2.3 in OpcDaClient Reference manual.doc). Both user accounts must exist on both systems, and the respective passwords must be the same in the two systems. '''Synchronous''': This mode should always work. Here only the FLS user account has to be considered. This user account with its password must exist in the Opc server machine. Create 2 new user with full rights and member of administrative group: * user 1 (Fls user): ** Make sure to select: Passwork never expires! ** Password: 800FLSmidth ** Username: FlsOpc * user 2 (Sites OPC server): ** Make sure to select: Passwork never expires! ** Password: ? (ask site) ** Username: ? (ask site) ==In services== * configure the Fls.Ecc.OpcDaClient BL/DA service to run with the FlsOpc account. ** User name: FlsOpc ** Password: 800FLSmidth [image:] ==On the OPC server== * The automation people need to set up the OPC server with the QCX user with with full rights and member of the administrator group.: ** User: FlsOpc ** Password: 800FLSmidth [image:] ==On QCX== Under ”system” choose ”communication” Then select: I/O editors [image:] Select: New service and add a name Then go to the Configuration tab and under Host A – Host Name – * enter IP address of OPC server and Redundant server (if any) * Make sure the Seperator Characters are correct. Ask automation personel. Try to set the communication to: * Active and check that the state of the connection shows communication: OK (see image further down) [image:] In case you are not able to establish the communication, ensure that you have correctly installed the OPC Core Components Redistributable package. You can check it from the "Programs and Features" tab in Windows Control Panel. In case it is not installed, you can find the package on any server which has FLSA sofware installed in it, at the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\FLSmidth\Ecc\8.x". The name of the package is "OPC Core Components Redistributable (x64).msi".
