For BLX to register a sample correct it has to be connected to a "Sample Taken" Signal. This signal can either come from the Autosampling system or if the site dont have an autosampling system the signal must be made by the sampler;
- either by a physical push button which send a signal that a sample have been taken
- or by a PLC at the sampler registering that there have been taken a sample.
When QCX gets the Sample Taken signal it logs in a sample in the active sample window and then it awaits the analysis.
BLX keeps accounting of the tons of material the sample represents and if the signal is not logged in correctly BLX gets the wrong accounting.
BLX will not work correctly if the sample is logged in later than it was physical taken at the sampler. So if a sample was taken by the sampler at f.ex. 15:00 hr it has to physical logged into active samples at that same time! It wil NOT work if this sample is registred in active samples at f.ex 15:30 but with the 15:00 hr sample time. Then BLX will get the wrong accounting.
So if there are not autosampling system this is how to set up the sample taken signal:
- Go to: System - Configuration - Point editor
- Browse to right location for the signal : For instance: BLXMills; PS_line1 - Controller
- Select: Create new point
- Name: SampleTaken signal
- Functional Parent: QCX
- Point Type: BLX point type: DigitalRead
- Select the IO interface system
- Click: OK
Now in the point editor link the newly created point to the right IO adress.
Then open the QCX Lab editor (System --> configuration --> QCX Lab editor)
Under the Lab Samper / Raw Meal sampler: there is a line to enter the sample taken signal. Here browse for the point and insert it.
Now there is a setup so everytime a sample is taken at the sampler there is a sample logged in at Active Samples with the right time and Right production.
