How to add an extra silo to an existing BLX Mill

Do a backup of existing system and save in separate location.

Export the BLX specific solution.

Unzip the specific solution

Copy the following xml files to a new folder

Fls.Core.Config.Solution.xml (this folder contains information on which solution the xml files belong to)

Fls.Core.Ref.xml

Fls.QcxBlx.Mill.Config.xml

Now edit Fls.Core.Ref.xml and Fls.QcxBlx.Mill.Config.xml (using for instance: Notepad++):

Replace the existing Silo reference with the new name

Silo – change to f.ex.: Silo_1 (just an example) But note that it will NOT rename the original silo – just add a silo with the new name.

Do this replace in the Fls.Core.Ref.xml (app. 42 replacements) and in Fls.QcxBlx.Mill.Config.xml (app. 24 replacements)

Save the files and then zip the 3 xml files to a zip file. It is very important that it is a ZIP file and not a 7z file!!!!

Fls.Core.Config.Solution.xml

Fls.Core.Ref.xml

Fls.QcxBlx.Mill.Config.xml

Now import the new Zip file into QCX. BLX have to be halted to do the import.

Open configuration - configuration - Blx - PS_RawMill - Subsecion and check that there is an extra subsection for the new added Silo.

Open the subsection - new silo and give the silo a new SelectionMask number (now it has the same number as the original silo) For instance the original silo will have SelectionMask 0 and give the new Silo Selection Mask: 1.

In the example below the new silo is number 4, and it has selection mask 3.

Now a New Silo Selection States, Point type and point should be made.

New State:

Go to State editor and do a copy of the Run-Stop and name it something with SiloSelection.

Remember to edit the Input mask to contain more than just data on bit 0.

Create the SiloSelection as required by the site and save.

New Point Type:

Open Point Type Editor and create a new point type using the newly made state:

Now go to Point Editor and create a new point using the new point type. If the site wants the silo change to be done by the CCR – then create the point as either PLC or OPC. If the site wants the lab to control the silo change then create the point as operator inserted.

To activate the new SiloSelect option – the newly made SiloSelect point needs to be entered in the BLX configuration:

Now the HMI in BLX needs to be edited with a new HMI (Silo Status) for the new Silo and also either an entry tab for selecting silo or a field that reads the active silo from the PLC/OPC point.
