The pile system can be configured with our without position measurements.

Follow this link of description of how to set up without position measurements: BLX Pile Engineering tool: Stackers page: WithOut position measuring

To set up a Pile longitudinal system with positioning measurements:

The first 2 tables are the same as for a system without posistioning measurements. But the third table is different: Table CalculatorLongitudinalStackerWPosmeas. The inputs into this table is to convert from the site PLC numbering system to the BLX coordinate system. So when the stacker is at a certain pile position and sends it to the PLC, BLX reads this. THen it is converted by Calculations in BLX to where it fits into the SMX and BLX pile model.

There are defined: output and input numbers. For example when the stacker is at the very far end of for instance Pile 1 the PLC will send a position of its location. This number coming from the PLC to BLX is called: Pile1OuterInput. Meaning that it is a signal coming from outside (Site PLC) Into BLX.  In this table we define the relationship between the PLC value and the BLX pile area. We say that when the stacker is a X position it corresponds to Y value in BLX.

Likewise there is a Pile Center Input for each Pile for the PLC reading when the the stacker is at the center of the pile system.

Then there is also 2 signals that take the outerInput and converts it to and output to the BLX model: This is Called: OuterOutput

The input from the PLC with a posistion for when the stacker is at the far end of Pile 1. This is a number that needs to be entered in the table.Pile2OuterInput:  The input from the PLC with a posistion (in meters or feet) for when the stacker is at the far end of Pile 2. As with the other OuterInput entry this is a number.Pile1CenterInput:

The input from the PLC with a position (meters or feet) for when the stacker is at the center of the pile system.Pile2CenterInput: The input from the PLC with a position (meters or feet) for when the stacker is at the center of the pile system.Pile1OuterOutput & Pile2OuterOutput: This is the distance within the Pile Layout system (read from the center of the BLX pile system) to where the Pile1OuterInput sends its signal.

For example: the Stacker sends to the PLC that now it is at position X. Then the Pile1OuterOutput is the same location with in the Pile layout area: For example: The stacker is a the far end of Pile 2 and sends a signalt to the PLC: 120 m. So the Pile1OuterInput is = 120.

This positions is equivalent to 115 m within the BLX Pile layout area. Then BLX is able to calculate the relationships/correlation between these 2 numbers so it always knows hwere the stacker is withing the BLX pile model.
